Steps to a Texas agent license

  1. Book the exam with Pearson VUE and pay the exam fee.
  2. Book a digital fingerprint appointment with IdentoGO.
  3. Pass the exam, then get fingerprinted.
  4. Apply for the license online through Sircon within 12 months of passing; after that you must retake the exam.

The handbook also says applicants must be at least 18, and that a sponsoring company or agency can request a temporary 180-day license for an otherwise eligible applicant who hasn't yet passed the exam. Most licenses then require 24 hours of continuing education every two years, including 3 hours of ethics.

The Texas questions are only part of the exam: practice the general knowledge part with the Life & Health topic quizzes and the 100-question practice exam.
