Pennsylvania Life, Accident & Health Insurance Exam: Pennsylvania Law Practice Questions

Free practice questions on the Pennsylvania statutes and Insurance Department regulations tested on the Pennsylvania Life, Accident and Health producer exam, with explanations and sources.

Pennsylvania's Life, Accident and Health producer exam (series 16-03, 150 questions in 170 minutes) mixes Pennsylvania statutes and Insurance Department regulations into its sections rather than testing them in a separate part; Insurance Regulation alone is 21% of the exam, according to the PSI content outline effective 1 March 2026. These topics collect the Pennsylvania-specific rules the outline cites.

Steps to a Pennsylvania life and health producer license

  1. Pass the PSI exam for the lines you want (16-03 for both, or 16-01 and 16-02).
  2. Apply to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department with your fingerprints, proof of passing and the license fee (40 P.S. § 310.5); the candidate booklet says to apply within one year of passing the exam.
  3. Once licensed, get appointed by each insurer you will represent.

Licenses are renewed every two years, and producers complete 24 credit hours of approved continuing education in each two-year period, at least 3 of them in ethics (40 P.S. § 310.8).

Pennsylvania's exam also tests the general concepts: practice them with the Life & Health topic quizzes and the 100-question practice exam.
