How this practice exam works
- Each attempt draws 30 questions from our New York question bank in the proportions shown below.
- You have 30 minutes; the exam submits itself when time runs out.
- Flag questions, move freely, and change answers before you submit. Your progress is saved in this browser.
- After you submit you see your score by topic and an explanation with sources for every question you missed.
New York's Life, Accident and Health agent exam (series 17-55, 150 questions in 2.5 hours) mixes New York Insurance Law and Department of Financial Services regulations into every section rather than testing them in a separate part, according to the PSI candidate information bulletin. These topics collect the New York-specific rules the outline cites. The state sets the passing standard for the real exam, and it isn't necessarily 70% correct; we show 70% as a practical target. For the general knowledge part, take the 100-question Life & Health practice exam.
