How this practice exam works
- Each attempt draws 30 questions from our Illinois question bank in the proportions shown below.
- You have 30 minutes; the exam submits itself when time runs out.
- Flag questions, move freely, and change answers before you submit. Your progress is saved in this browser.
- After you submit you see your score by topic and an explanation with sources for every question you missed.
In Illinois each line of authority has two exams: a general knowledge exam and an Illinois state exam. The Life state exam has 31 scored questions and the Accident and Health state exam 39 (plus 5 unscored pretest questions each); 22 of them in each exam cover Illinois rules common to all lines, according to the Pearson VUE content outlines #121402 (the state-law sections are the same in the 2026 and 2027 versions). The state sets the passing standard for the real exam, and it isn't necessarily 70% correct; we show 70% as a practical target. For the general knowledge part, take the 100-question Life & Health practice exam.
