Steps to a Georgia life and health agent license

  1. Complete an approved pre-licensing course of at least 8 hours for each line, Life and Accident and Sickness (Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. r. 120-2-3-.07, since June 2025); pass the exam within 12 months of finishing it.
  2. Pass the Pearson VUE exam for the lines you want.
  3. Apply online through Sircon within 12 months of passing, including the notarized citizenship affidavit the department requires.

Agent licenses are issued for two years and expire on the last day of the licensee's birth month (O.C.G.A. § 33-23-18). Agents licensed less than 20 years complete 24 hours of continuing education each two-year period, including 3 hours of ethics, according to the candidate handbook.

Georgia's exam also tests the general concepts: practice them with the Life & Health topic quizzes and the 100-question practice exam.
